[AnNahar] A soldier in fatigues furiously pedals his bicycle through the alleyways of Diffa, puffing away after the biggest town in southeast Niger banned cycle of violences -- vehicle of choice of jihadists. Situated on the border with northeastern Nigeria, the heartland of Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... hard boys, Diffa is on high alert since it was attacked in February. |
