Somalia, AU forces expand in central Somalia |

Somalia government troops backed by African union peacekeeping forces have expanded in Elbur town in central Somalia’s Galgadud region, according to police officials. Police chief in Elbur for government forces, Col. Mohamed Karie told Shabelle Media in Mogadishu that the joint forces launched an effort, in a bid to expand several territories under the town. Meanwhile, Col. Mohamed said that they have been learning and listening conditions of people living in areas where military operations are conducted. Elbur, the latest town which has been captured by Somalia National Army, along with AU forces from the militants of Al Shabaab. |
