Syrian regime frees 574 detainees in Justice Minister swap deal: source
2015-06-25
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] A well-informed source told Zaman al-Wasl a swap deal carried out between Syrian regime and Islam Army last two weeks was behind the release of Justice Minister who was kidnapped by the key rebel group on June 9.

A judicial source said regime security had released 574 detainees mostly from the city of Douma, the hometown of Islam Army's commander, Zahran Alloush, in an exchange for Justice Minister, Najm al-Ahmed, and tens of people who were taken hostages by Islam Army in Adra al-O'malia offensive near Damascus early 2014.

The source said that Islam Army had deliberately denied al-Ahmed kidnapping in an effort to complete the exchange deal.

Islam Army also has received more 300 million Syrian pound in the exchange deal, source said.

The key rebel group in Eastern Ghouta district near Damascus has 6 secret prisons where more than 5000 people loyal to Bashir al-Assad regime are still in detention, according to Zaman al-Wasl sources.
