2015-06-28
[Sun Star] Six New People's Army militants surrendered this week to Philippine troops in two towns in Sarangani province. Public Information Officer Alberto Caber identified the communist surrenderees as Dindin, Lovely, Junex, Arman, Noli, and Michael.

Arman, Noli and Michael surrendered in Alabel, while Dindin, Lovely, and Junex surrendered in Malapatan town. The six turned themselves in to the Army’s 73rd Infantry Battalion. Caber said the battalion is now facilitating the process of finding an appropriate livelihood and other assistance under the Comprehensive Local Integration Program of Sarangani for the six who surrendered.

The Eastern Mindanao Command reports that since January of this year, a total of 134 NPA militants have returned to the folds of the law.
