General Abdul Rahman Rahimi told news hounds at the site of the attack that the Lions of Islam planned to storm the NDS facility but their attack was suppressed by the security forces.

He said the attack begin with a suicide kaboom in front of the facility due to which one soldier who was guarding the gate embraced martyrdom. The suicide kaboomer used a Zaranj cycle of violence laden with explosives in this kaboom.

According to the police chief two other suicide bombers tried to enter to the NDS office following the blast but security forces gunned them down after identifying them.

No group had immediately grabbed credit for the attack in Kart-e-Naw area by the time of filing this report. However,

the responsibility for the first attack which took place in Shah Shahid area of Kabul city is claimed by two holy warrior groups, the Taliban and the Hizb-e-Islami.

According to Kabul police, two people -- one foreigner and another civilian, were maimed after a suicide bomber rammed in his explosives-laden vehicle into a vehicle of foreign forces around 11:30 am.

Today's attacks come about two weeks after Taliban attacked the Afghan parliament in Darul Aman area of the city.

Five people were killed, none of them politicians, and 31 others maimed in the attack.
