eriously wounded by a roadside bomb in Narathiwat province yesterday morning. The blast instantly killed Master Sergeant First Class Wattana Muangkaew and destroyed the team's truck. Officials believe insurgents detonated the bomb from bushes along the roadside as the teacher protection unit's truck passed it. The militant group believed to be involved is led by Amran Ming, Hasaree Ming and Usman Aesa.
Later in the morning a second roadside bomb went off, but none of the targeted rangers was wounded. In the afternoon, another bomb attack hurt four defense volunteers.
