Group To Unveil Satan Statue In Detroit During 'Largest Public Satanic Ceremony In History'

 during a gathering that's being billed as the "largest public satanic ceremony in history."
We've descended to the public worship of Evil.
The Satanic Temple has said Saturday's private event will be open only to people with tickets, $25 each. Invitations to "The Unveiling" summoned guests to prepare for "a night of chaos, noise, and debauchery... Come dance with the Devil and experience history in the making." The event location is not being announced publicly and is known only to those with tickets.
I doubt the statue's going to come to life or that anybody's going to turn into a pillar of salt.
The group said the bronze Baphomet monument, which weighs about one ton and has never been seen before in public, "is not only an unparalleled artistic triumph, but stands as a testament to plurality and the power of collective action." The statue, which backed by an inverted pentagram and flanked by statues of two young children gazing up at the creature, shows Satan with horns, hooves, wings and a beard.

The group went on to say the unveiling event "will serve as a call-to-arms from which we'll kick off our largest fight to date in the name of individual rights to free exercise against self-serving theocrats."

Photography is strictly prohibited at the 18-and-older event unless, of course, you're a $75 VIP ticket holder. Those partygoers will have an exclusive opportunity to be photographed seated on the Baphomet monument.

#10  I smell an opportunity here. The scrap price of bronze is $1.45 a pound. So here is the estimate:
Scrap gross value: 2000 lb x $1.45/lb = $2900
Less expenses: boom truck and statue removal $500
Less priest or clergyman exorcising statue until it is melted $200
Net profit: $2200
Pass profit on to those hurt by Satan's servants or whatever you feel is worthwhile: priceless

But it isn't aimed at them. It's aimed squarely at the Christian majority -- still about 70% of the American population, and perhaps even more of the population remaining in Detroit -- to rub their noses in the fact that they can't do a thing about it. Also the Aztecs, should there be any in Detroit, as they all were converted to Christianity centuries ago, as were the followers of Set, Zeus and Aphrodite. The rest of your list are of such vanishingly small proportions of the American citizenry, and even smaller than that in Detroit, as to be of no account whatsoever in the equation.

It should be noted that the invitation is to a night of debauchery, not a night of Satan-worship, so it seems safe to assume that most will be there for debauchery rather than free exercise of religion. It all sounds drearily vulgar, the kind of thing where everyone pretends as hard as ever they can to look like they're having a wonderful time instead of passing around the usual diseases, throwing up in corners, and going home with a blinding headache.

this only ticks off the abrahamic religions - only 3 religions out of hundreds in human history, and all three evolved in one tiny geographic box of the middle east among bronze-age primitives who were not even the most advanced humans on the planet at the time.

Every religion thinks it is true, and yet they cannot all be right. why would a divine entity bother revealing itself to those peasants and not the far more advanced chinese or mayans?

Perhaps they are all equal glimpses of the untrue.

Do the Muslims have issues with "idolaters" "pagans" and most especially with "Devil Worshipers"?

I wonder how we could, er, "introduce" these 2 groups to each other?
