Regime tightens siege on Damascus suburbs despite truce

[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] The Syrian regime has returned the hard siege on many towns of the of the countryside of Damascus after truce agreement with them by closing all the barriers to Tal, Qodsaya, Alhameh and Moadameyat al-Sham.

According to regime story, those procedures came as a result of abducting and disappearing of many of its soldiers, which is considered a breach to the truce agreement, while activists claimed that regime was the side had breached the truce first.
In the town of Tal where almost a million displaced people live there besides its own people, the main humanitarian barrier had been closed for 7 days after killing a soldier at Tal-Mnin road. The regime only let employees and students to pass the barrier without letting in any food or fuel.

Moreover, the Syrian regime has closed the main road to Qodsaya and Alhameh since 21st July and has closed the road between Qodsaya and its suburb after the disappearance of a soldier and accused the rebels of abducting him, while no revolutionary group announced its responsibility for that act.

Sources mentioned that reconciliation committee has met many officers of the regime to reopen the barrier.

The siege in Moadamiyeh Alsham had increased since Friday after claims of losing a soldier in the town. But the manager of the media office in Moadameyeh "Mohammed Noor" explained that soldier was called Samara and has defected and joined the Free Syrian Army

, he had done a truce with the regime earlier, but in the end he was caught during his attempt to escape from the town with some men to sort out their situation, and the regime now demanding releasing him to open the barrier in return.

Zaman al-Wasl correspondent reported deterioration of the living and medical conditions of people in the four towns where no food or products are available in markets and bakeries had stopped as no flour of fuel are available.

The four town are congested with displaced people from around the country beside its own people. It is estimated that almost a million live in Tal and half a million in Qodsaya and Alhameh, while 40 thousand in Moadameyeh Alsham.
