[Bangkok Post] A marine was killed and three others seriously wounded in an explosion in Narathiwat province on Thursday morning. As a truck with eight marines passed in front of a village mosque in Bacho district, militants remotely detonated a bomb hidden in a garbage can.Following the blast, the marines, who were on teacher security patrol, returned fire. The militants withdrew after a five-minute gun battle.
Officials believe the attack was the work of a group of militants led by Romuelee Kachaekaso which operate in the district.
