#34 They have security guys at the State Department that tell you that stuff when you show up for work your first day. That would be me:) In my 18 years, I've found that the overwhelming majority of DOS employees are very good about infosec. They understand the rules and regs and comply. Wildebeest brought the "Rules are for the unwashed" dude with her. |

#33 Do you really believe Hillary! has 50,000 emails concerning her yoga routine? If that were true, she wouldn't need the pantsuit. /new Downfall video circulating about |

#32 I'm betting that the original Hillary Clinton hard drive is in deeper water and will be harder to locate than the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 flight recorder. These are records of communication over the internet. Hillary could reliably erase her own archive. But incriminating emails are in the hands of persons and entities she has no control over. At least this must be the reasonable assumption. Logically any party in possession of such emails would wait for her to assume the presidency before using them to get leverage. Unless there actually is nothing incriminating in Hillary's email correspondence (fat chance!) Hillary will be a President under Damocles' Sword. |

#30 I'm betting that the original Hillary Clinton hard drive is in deeper water and will be harder to locate than the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 flight recorder. Nah - they shread hard drives now - in goes the entire hard drive and out comes fine-sawdust sized flecks of drive. There there's the copious amounts of C4 explosive method. |

#29 My bet as well junkiron. Thanks for the technical info/insights.....which we might never see, or be made aware of elsewhere. |

#28 According to engineering supervisor Tom Hakim and director of digital forensics Scott Gibbs (at We Recover Data.com) the Clinton server was running Windows Server 2008 and using Microsoft Exchange as its e-mail system. Need I say any more about Security ? Well maybe... It should be remembered that any time you send an e-mail on Microsoft Exchange a great amount of information is also being transmitted about the machine you are using. That information includes not only the serial number of of the machine itself but also the serial numbers of the mother board and all drives connected to that machine. Considering the software in use on the Clinton server It should be a simple matter to determine whether the server and the drives she turns over are in fact the ones that contained the original e-mails in the first place. I'm betting that the original Hillary Clinton hard drive is in deeper water and will be harder to locate than the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 flight recorder. |

#27 Is it still the same server with the hard drive swapped out? (Answer: No) The answer to this question may be quite revealing. If she acted independently, my theory of Klingon collusion may be disproven. |

#26 The data are Confidential, Secret, or Top Secret independently of what classification's marked on it. Sources and methods or compartments add additional caveats. Exactly, the document contains an overall classification based on the highest level of data or sources and methods found therein. Individual paragraph classification markings reflect the classification of the data, or sources and methods found within that para. |

#25 Didn't she skip the security briefing and there was a minor media blip about it when she started? |

#23 Timing: She's lost too much ground to Sanders, the concern now in her camp is prison with relentless Rep. Trey Gowdy and conservative private groups on her tail. Just in time for the trial, conviction and Presidential pardon after Bill and Barack hold a beer summit one year from December. |

#22 Is it still the same server with the hard drive swapped out? (Answer: No) Back in the day, we used to classify the paper "Top Secret" before we started typing. The data are Confidential, Secret, or Top Secret independently of what classification's marked on it. Sources and methods or compartments add additional caveats. (U) Unclassified stuff is open source. There may be other things that are (U) but I can't think of any. (FOUO) Anything emanating from the Secretary of State touching on her job would be For Official Use Only. Open source data that's corroborated by intel takes the classification of the intel in reporting. It's the corroboration that's classified, not necessarily the data itself. They have security guys at the State Department that tell you that stuff when you show up for work your first day. |

#21 I'm with Bobby, the total gap of email corresponding to the arrival of Huma, and lasting somewhere on the order of 45+days, cannot be explained away with "no markings" or "republicans did it too", except that the Nixonian gap in emails as a causation for her political demise would be irony at its finest. Remember her presence (and firing for being a liar) on the Watergate investigation committee! |

#19 CNN = F6 Heck - at least an F6 human source was recruited. I'm thinking more like call in - unable to assess credibility, placement, or access. May intend to mislead or annoy. |

#18 IMINT is inherent classified due to sources and methods. Unless those were from Ball or similar, they were classified at the moment of their creation. |

#16 Ref: #10, to my knowledge the TK designator has never been lifted. When I left the business I was warned, and had to agree, that I would never divulge it and similar designators -- ever. Had I left with cables or material using that designator in my possession I would likely have been arrested and sentenced. In my opinion H. Clinton has fallen in the septic tank and can't get out. |

#15 She's had plenty of time to scrub the hard drives. |

#14 CNN = F6 Single source information, generally found to be unreliable. |
Posted by: Besoeker 2015-08-12 10:28 |
#13 And CNN has this, updated at 10:00 a.m.: The aide said it's the Clinton campaign's understanding that the Justice Department isn't looking to reconstruct the server's history, but is instead concerned about the security of the emails today, since some are now classified, though they weren't classified or labeled as such at the time. |

#12 Ref #10: A State Department spokesman late Tuesday described the top-secret designation as a recommendation You're either preggies or you are NOT preggies. Classifications are DETERMINED, no recommended. If the data provided was 'Special Intelligence' [which I suspect it was].... then there is no question. |

#11 Hmmmm, the FBI obtained the server. The FBI operates under Justice. Someone (ahem, Obama or Valerie J.) throwing Hillary under the bus? Let's see how good the FBI computer forensics people are and how serious they are about recovering information. DOJ may be putting on some Kabuki theater while not really doing much. |

#10 The Washington Post at 8:55 a.m. has this tidbit, courtesy of Drudge Report: A State Department spokesman late Tuesday described the top-secret designation as a recommendation and said they had not been marked classified at the time, but said staffers âcirculated these e-mails on unclassified systems in 2009 and 2011 and ultimately some were forwarded to Secretary Clinton.â |

#9 She's wiped it clean. Next up: they have to decide to let it slide, or else go after her for spoliation of evidence, and obstruction of justice, and possibly conspiracy to obstruct if she involved others (RICO for the Clintons?) |

#8 ..only if the WH kept a lot of material compartmentalized from State. Otherwise, both have goods on each other to play out in this game. We're going to find out what is held in highest grasp of each faction in their fight (Presidency vs Legacy). Lists, they have lists! Welcome to the game of thrones. Unfortunately, for the sheeple, like the real fight between the House of York and Lancaster, a lot of 'innocents' are going to pay the price too. Their 'foot soldiers' I could care less about. |

#5 Nope Glenmore. The FBI found TS documents on her drive. If this was the real world, she would be done and do some serious time in a Federal Prison. However, the information has been turned over to the DOJ and nothing much will happen. |
