A political administration official told journalists in Parachinar that the men who torched the school also kidnapped 10 labourers who were working in a project in the area and resided in the school building.
The official said that no group had grabbed credit for the kidnapping, adding that turbans still have a presence in Kurram Agency's central tehsil.
Separately, TTP's important leader, Mohammad Amin, and his 12 followers surrendered to the security forces in Ferozkhel area of Orakzai Agency on Monday. They also surrendered vests used by jacket wallahs and AK-47 rifles.
