| Sudan says received $1 bln in deposits from Saudi Arabia over past two months | |

| #1 Overall, this is not a new investment. Saudi interest in Sudan agriculture has been evident for years. Now that the Saudi's own costly investments in grain production and oasis development have been cut back, the logical alternative was to make eastern Sudan, in effect, a Saudi agricultural colony. |
