Three people were killed and more injured as Saudi security forces came under fire during the operations. The dead were two suspected of drugs offences and a security officer. Nine suspects and 25 security officers were maimed in the operations. The 1309 arrested - made up of 453 Saudis, and 856 of 35 different nationalities - are accused of smuggling, taking and the sale of narcotic substances, the statement from the ministry added. According to the statement, authorities seized: - More than 700 weapons - More than 11 million amphetamine tablets - More than 12 tons of hashish - More than 13 kg of raw heroin | |
