[CNSNEWS] The federal government raked in a record of approximately $2,883,250,000,000 in tax revenues through the first eleven months of fiscal 2015 (Oct. 1, 2014 through the end of August), according to the Monthly Treasury Statement released Friday. That equaled approximately $19,346 for every person in the country who had either a full-time or part-time job in August.

#8  As long as Affirmative Action exists, there will public sector unions.

#7  tw, it also means that every union in the country will unite to do ANYTHING to stop him from becoming president.

Personally, I think abolishing public sector unions is a great idea, but I doubt it will ever happen.

#6  Just saw this on Instapundit:

GOOD IDEA: Scott Walker proposes ban on government unions.

That it's even being discussed, by the man who has already done it in his state, speaks volumes, it seems to me.

#5  Your analysis of government as an economic enterprise is spot on, though.

#4  Possibly, Besoeker. Or we may have reached "peak Progressives" in both parties. Several of those Democrats who voted to filibuster the Iran thingy in the Senate will not be running for reelection. Ditto in the House. And at the state and local level ever more Tea party Republicans are being elected each year, shoving out Democrats and liberal Republicans alike.

#2  And yet, we can't have a space program anymore, can't maintain - let alone improve - our infrastructure, and can't have a military any larger than Paraguay (no offense intended). SO where does all the cash go? I imagine interest is a large chunk of change.

I track the beginning of the end to 1965, when the War on Poverty became a black hole.

#1  IIRC the Fed Debt level [public debt] is now the equivalent of slightly over US$107,000.0 per US household.
