Karachi-West DIG Feroze Shah tld Dawn that three cycle of violence-riding gunnies fired five bullets, three of which hit the MQM leaders vehicle. He added that retaliatory firing by police guards deputed with Khalid forced the attackers to flee from the scene.

Addressing a presser in Karachi, MQM leader Farooq Sattar condemned the attack on his colleague.

Saifuddin Khalid was elected as a Member of Sindh's provincial from PS-94 Karachi-VI constituency of Karachi during the 2013 General Elections. He had previously served as an MPA after being elected from the same Orangi Town constituency during the 2008 general polls.
