President Zimbob declares 'we are not gays' during U.N. speech.
2015-09-29
Short excerpt
[Vox] As gay rights improve in much of the world, they're getting worse in a handful of countries in sub-Saharan Africa. A 2013 Amnesty International report detailed worsening and "dangerous" homophobia across much of the continent. This is not uniform to the continent, of course, and some countries such as South Africa have positive and improving LGBT rights situations. The causes of this are complex — the legacy of European colonialism, the perverse incentives of post-colonial authoritarianism and conflict — but the problem is real.
But wat isn't 'getting worse' in sub-Saharan Africa? Evil white men to blame of course, I might have guessed.

#3  Speaking of "target market." The Castro's are now seeking the return of GITMO along with reparations.

The clock is ticking on this issue for the Champ. We'll have to keep an eye on the signage at NAS GITMO.

#2  It's fundraising time for AI. It's a fashionable cause. And "legacy of European colonialism, the perverse incentives of post-colonial authoritarianism and conflict" both absolves the African and triggers both the guilt complex and anti-Westernism of the target market.

Might as well go after the money now. It's going to get a bit tougher for AI after 2017, at least in the US. They're going to have competition.
