Over 300 Afghan Trucks Stuck at Torkham Crossing
2015-10-19
[Tolo News] Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) said Sunday that Pakistain is preventing Afghan trucks from entering the neighboring country and that more than 300 trucks are stuck at the Torkham border crossing.

ACCI officials said Pakistain's Embassy in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
has stopped giving transit permits to Afghan trucks and keep coming up with different excuses.

Afghan government officials, meanwhile, warned they would follow a similar response if the trucks are not allowed to enter the country.

"If they do not allow our trucks to enter, we will also do the same thing. We will stop their trucks at the border and we will unload them," Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohammadullah Batash said.

However the ACCI officials accused the Afghan government of being silent over the issue and doing nothing in this regard.

"Where is our national illusory sovereignty? Pak trucks are entering our country without having [legal] documents while our trucks are not being allowed to go to Pakistain. I don't know who we must complain to?" ACCI deputy head Khan Jan Alokozai said.

Furthermore, they asked President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
to review the transit agreement between Kabul and Islamabad. They alleged that Pakistain is not abiding by the agreement.
