Video of some of what DoD's $500m purchased for "moderate" mooslim fighters
2015-10-28
[PJmedia] A new video released by al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra shows fighters from the terror group using the very weapons which were supplied by the U.S. to "vetted moderate" rebel groups as part of a disastrously failed plan to combat ISIS.

The video shows urban warfare training near Aleppo. Observers on Twitter have noted the weapons appear to be M240L machine guns. These weapons had been provided to the small group of fighters trained under the Department of Defense's $500 million "train and equip" program that was shut down earlier this month.

#9   WTF is going on with western foreign policy?

If you were

a) Disengaging from the Middle East and Europe, while

b) Pivoting your foreign policy focus to Asia and

c) Catering to your political base in order to establish a post-presidential political machine, yet

d) Placating a mixed bag of erstwhile supporters (the center-left media, traditional party members and donors, internationalists, etc.)

What would you do differently?

#8  It's such a consistent failure and such a pathetic attempt to roll over ISIS that I have to agree with Putin that the west just isn't trying.

#7  Some of the weapons contained hidden tracking tags. Unfortunately we simply cannot discuss it further in this venue.

#6  It isn't a "disastrous failure," if failure was the intent.

#5  ...for good jobs with 'safe' Donk donors, so they don't have to talk about their prior employment experiences.

#3  All of this after the 'Fast and Furious' cock-up with firearms and the Mexican drug cartels and the Benghazi fiasco. Is no one in the regime taking notes ?

#2  very sad. ultimately if we cannot win and it becomes an existential conflict we will have no choice but to cut off immigration from these areas, deport islamofascists and cease all trade with them. no more technology, plus we do not buy their oil
