One killed as curfew declared in southeastern district

[Hurriyet] One man was killed late on Nov. 3 during festivities between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) murderous Moslems in the province of Diyarbakir's Silvan district, where a curfew had been declared.

The man, identified as Muslum Tayyar, 22, was killed during the security forces' operation after a curfew was declared starting from 5 a.m. in three Silvan neighborhoods, where trenches had been dug by PKK bully boys.

Sporadic festivities are ongoing, with gunfire and kabooms heard in the neighborhoods where the curfew is still in place.

Two killed in clashes in Turkey’s southeast

[Hurriyet] Two men were killed on Nov. 3 during festivities between security forces and locals in the Yuksekova district of the southeastern province of Hakkari.

Police conducted an operation in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood to fill in trenches and barricades built by alleged supporters of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Two men, identified as 18-year-old Cetin Dara and 20-year-old Dogan Dogma, were maimed in the festivities between security forces and members of the outlawed Patriotic Revolutionary Youth Movement (YDG-H), the PKK's youth branch. Both gave up the ghost at Yuksekova State Hospital.

Tension has continued in the area, with residents standing guard in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood to prevent the return of the state security forces, according to local media reports.
