| Arrest warrant against BNP heir Tareque Rahman |

| A Dhaka court on Sunday issued an arrest warrant against BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman in a sedition case. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lutfor Rahman Shishir issued the warrant after hearing of the case. Bangabandhu Foundation President Moshiur Malek filed the case on October 19, 2014. In the case, Malek said Tarique had described his father Ziaur Rahman as the first president of Bangladesh in a programme in London on September 29. Malek maintained the claim was 'false and intentional'. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's son Tarique also called the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman a 'Pakbandhu (a friend of Pakistan)'. |
