| The suspected ringleader of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was among those killed in a French police raid on Wednesday, prosecutors say. They confirmed the Islamic State (IS) militant had died in a flat in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis. His body was found riddled with bullets and shrapnel in the apartment. The 28-year-old was identified from his fingerprints. The BBC's Hugh Schofield in Paris says the identification of Abaaoud raises serious questions for security services. He was high on French and Belgian wanted lists and yet managed to travel from Syria to the heart of Paris without ever leaving a trace.
His female cousin was reported to have blown herself up. Abaaoud was a one-time school bully and petty criminal from the Brussels immigrant district of Molenbeek who graduated to become a leading Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... hard boy with ties to a series of plots in Europe. The effect on his family was profound, with his sister Yasmina telling Phlegmish newspapers last year that "we can only pray that he is really dead" after it was -- mistakenly -- reported that he was killed in Syria.

| #1 From a purely statistical point of view, if you have 1.5 Billion Muslims and any good estimate of the extent of serious mental health problems is about 2.5%, that means about 37,500,000 seriously deranged Muslims floating around out there...quite a labor pool for ISIS and probably a pretty good description of the demographic that supplies most of the cannon fodder. |
