| 9 people wounded in Baghlan bomb attack |

| Nine people have sustained injuries in an explosion in front of the police headquarters of Baghlan-i-Markazi District of northern Baghlan province. Abdul Bashir, deputy police chief of Baghlan province said the blast took place around 10:00 am this morning. He said the bomb was attached to a motorcycle parked in front of the police HQ. Six civilians and three security personnel sustained injuries in the explosion. This was second attack on district police headquarters today. The first one took place in the southern part of the country in which five attackers were killed and a soldier of the Afghan National Army embraced martyrdom. The attack begun with a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) explosion in front of the police HQ of Arghandab District of Kandahar province after which four other militants started a gun battle with security forces. The clash lasted for about an hour before all four attackers were gunned down by security forces. No group has claimed responsibility for these attacks. |
