[ARA News] URFA – The extremist group of Islamic State (ISIS) on Monday beheaded a Syrian man in the northeastern province of Raqqa for refusing to pray at the mosque, eyewitnesses told ARA News. Faisal Nayif al-Hilal, 39, was arrested in the town of Tabqa in Raqqa province on charges of insulting the ISIS self-declared Caliphate. The Sharia Court issued a decision to behead al-Hilal in public to terrorize Syrians who oppose ISIS’s orders. “Al-Hilal was captured by ISIS militants in Tabqa town for refusing to pray at the mosque, telling the militants that he should be free to pray at home,” a local media activist told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity. “The Sharia Court considered al-Hilal’s behavior as an insulting act to the Caliphate,” the source reported. Eyewitnesses said that the 39-year-old man was brutally beheaded in front of dozens of people in Raqqa’s central square on Monday evening. |
