| Attackers Target Afghan Border Police in Kandahar |

| Kandahar police department confirmed late Monday that a group of five attackers stormed a security check post of the Afghan border police, killing two security officers. The attack happened in Spin Boldak district of the province, the heartland of the militants in the south. Security sources including police in the province have confirmed that the security forces gunned down the attackers in less than 30 minutes. According to provincial police commander general Abdul Raziq, the armed confrontation left two Afghan security personnel dead and seven others wounded. No civilians were hurt in the battle. Equipped with suicide vests and automatic weapons, five attackers stormed the 4th unit of border police in the area. One of the attackers detonated his vest in front of the gate to open the way for others. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack |
