F-22 Fighter Jets Arriving in Korea |

![]() The dispatch is part of a buildup of weaponry in response to North Korea's recent nuclear test and rocket launch. It also includes a nuclear-powered submarine, the USS North Carolina, taking part in joint drills and the deployment of another Patriot missile battery. The fighters are normally based in Okinawa and can reach the Korean Peninsula in just two hours. The U.S. is also expected to send the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis to participate in the joint exercises next month. |
