A mighty wiff by ISIS: Attacks wrong pipeline in Kirkuk

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk Province announced on Thursday, that an oil pipeline was detonated by an explosive device northwest of Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad), while pointed out that the fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com: “This morning, an explosive device emplaced under an oil pipeline near Mar’i village in the district of al-Dibs exploded, resulting in a fire caused by the remaining quantities of oil in the pipe.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “Fire fighting brigades were able to extinguish the fire caused by the explosion.”

Noteworthy the south and west of Kirkuk are under ISIS control since June 2014.

ISIS executes 17 youths in Hawija District

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The leader of Obeid clans in Iraq, Anwar al-Aasi said on Thursday, that the ISIS elements executed 17 youths from the residents of Hawija District and its surroundings, while called the government to accelerate in the liberation of the southern and western areas of Kirkuk.

Aasi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “In the last three days, ISIS elements beheaded 17 youths from the residents of Hawija District and the areas of Zab, al-Riyad, al-Abasi and al-Rashad (55 km southwest of Kirkuk) on charges of writing banners inciting against [them].”

He also added, “The ISIS elements had put the heads of the victims in front of the entrance of Shamit village in the district of Hawija and forced their families not to raise them for three days,” calling the Iraqi government, “to speed up the liberation of Hawija.”
