Libya Forces Make Key Benghazi Gains |
2016-02-24 |
[ALMANAR.LB] Forces loyal to Libya's internationally recognized government seized a key central neighborhood of second city Benghazi from krazed killer militias on Tuesday, the military said. The advance came as Libya's parliament again failed to vote on a UN-backed unity government seen as a crucial step in ending years of political chaos and conflict in the North African state. Special forces retook the Benghazi area of Lithi, which had been a stronghold for krazed killer fighters including the ISIL group, after days of fierce festivities. |

#1 If there is no government who ordered the assault? "The required quorum [89 members of parliament] was not reached, so the president of the chamber adjourned the session," said MP Mohamed al-Abbani. Another parliamentarian, Ali Al-Qaidi, confirmed that "the necessary quorum was not reached, and the session for the vote was adjourned until next week". They got something more important to do? No quorum, no paycheck would be my response. Glad to hear that ISIL got their butts kicked. |
