| Taliban video shows Afghan army helicopter blown up |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] A distressing video has emerged online which purportedly shows an Afghan army Russian-made Mi-17 helicopter blown up by Talibs. The authenticity of the video could not be verified, however, the high quality video shows an Mi-17 helicopter is blown up, apparently by an Improvised Explosive Device as it performs an operation. There are no reports regarding the location of the incident but the video purportedly shows the helicopter blown up on top of a rocky mountain. The location where the incident took place is similar to the mountainous regions of eastern Kunar and Nuristan provinces of the country. The distressing video has been released as part of Taliban’s ongoing propaganda as the group has launched its spring offensive under the name of Omari Operations. The video has been released as the Afghan Air Force capabilities have significantly grown during the recent months. |
