Coach Bobby Knight To Appear At Trump Rally
2016-04-26
[Daily Caller] As the focus of the 2016 race turns to the Hoosier State, former Indiana Basketball coach Bobby Knight will appear with Donald Trump for a campaign rally in Indianapolis this week.
Bringing in Bobby Knight was a stroke of genius. Will Larry Bird be next? Trump will likely sweep Indiana.
The campaign said Monday that Trump "will be joined by special guest, the legendary coach, Bobby Knight" during a 6 P.M. event at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Wednesday.

There has been speculation that an endorsement from the famous chair-throwing coach would occur. In September, a New York Times Magazine reporter was in Trump’s office and overheard the businessman on the phone with Trump. "No one has accomplished more than Mr. Trump has," the coach said after Trump told him a reporter was listening.

Over the weekend, Trump teased an endorsement during a rally in Connecticut, saying: "By the way, would I like to get Coach Bobby Knight, who is a great coach, his endorsement. Tough, strong, smart. I would like to get that for Indiana, I’ll tell you what. To me, that would be a great endorsement."

#5  As the Party Elites have already chosen the form of their Destructor, The Stay Puft-Up Manhattan Man, what role or character does Bobby Knight play?

#4  Knight is a Hoosier hero, no Red Skelton, but certainly a local legend. Watch how Indiana goes Spanky, and get back to us will you ?

#3  Knight was last at IU 16 years ago, arrested for assault back in the day. Got fired for choking one of his players. So yeah I can see why he'd like trump - he's a loudmouth bully who assaults people. And got fired for it. Great coach but a flawed human being. And he's a celebrity now - he last won something meaningful in indiana back in 1993.

Celebrity endorsement whose opinions are about as current and valuable as Penn and Striesand.

Sorry trumpkins this is not that big a deal. It would be like Kasich getting Woody Hayes (rest his soul) endorsement.

#2  Knight means something. Streisand, Penn and Fonda are meaningless.

#1  Celebrity endorsement. Meaningless as Streisand backing Hillary or Sean Penn backing Saddam.

Only interesting if Knight throws chairs. Maybe they can invite Steve Ballmer and throw chairs at each other.
