| Shaboobs claim responsibility for mortar attack on AU base |

| Al shabaab said it fired several mortar rounds at a military base belonging to the African Union mission known as (AMISOM) in the capital, Mogadishu. The mortar attack was successful as the shells landed inside the AMISOM’s Halane base at Mogadishu airport, said a report published on pro-al shabaab website, citing top commander. Al shabaab said it will give further details on the casualties inflicted on AMISOM soldiers in Halane as a result of the mortar bombs. Meanwhile, AMISOM spokesman Joe Kibet, told Radio Shabelle by phone that the shells landed outside the troops’ base and caused no casualties. |
