| (IraqiNews.com) Salahaddin – A security source in Salahuddin Province announced on Monday, that three power transmission towers collapsed after being detonated by homemade improvised explosive devices east of Tikrit (170 km north of Baghdad), while emphasized that the detonation caused an interruption in the electric power supply in al-Alam area east of the city. The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Unidentified gunmen detonate three power transmission towers in Albu Khaddo area between Samarra and Dour (25 km east of Tikrit), using homemade improvised explosive devices, destroying the towers completely.” The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The bombing of the towers caused an interruption in the supply of electrical power in al-Alam area east of Tikrit.” |
