| [DAWN] A MILITARISED law enforcement -- such as that we have been witnessing in Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... for nearly three years -- may improve the situation in the short term, but it is not conducive to a sustainable peace. Fortunately, the apex committee in its meeting in Karachi on Thursday is developing a new strategy which aims to enhance the strength and capabilities of the city’s police force. |
