Military Coup In Turkey?
2016-07-15
I won't believe it until I see Lumpy Erdogan in a cell or swinging from a lamppost.
The Turkish military has started a coup to depose the nation's government according to prime minister Binali Yildirim.

Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge were both closed on Friday, local television channels reported, without giving a reason.
Thanks Raj! TW is doing a 'breaking updates' post above. Push your new comments there please. We'll update for the roll-over tonight as well.

#10  Hillary could select Erdogan as her running mate. He has experience in ruining a country so he would be a perfect choice for her agenda.

#9  Erdogan's tried to flee to Germany, apparently. The Germans are refusing permission for him to land -- apparently they HAVE taken in too many Turkish refugees.

#7  The link is to a story from 2012... Their actual "latest news from Turkey" page is lead by a review of the film "Gallipoli".

#4  Bridge closures -- trying to keep the more fundamentalists from the eastern suburbs from coming into the city?

And I'm worried that Iran, Russia, and ISIS will try to get some advantage out of this, and plunge the country into a multi-sided civil war.

Oh, and watch the JEF screw this up. He'll do something like demand Erdogan be put back into power, regardless of what evidence the Turkish military turns up against him.
