Kenyan military fired mortar rounds on a small town in Gedo region of southwestern Somalia which is under the control of Al Shabaab fighters.The local residents of Dhamase area, located about 40Km north of El Wak town said several civilians house were hit by the mortar shells fired by Kenyan forces. The villagers are worried about their safety and voiced concern over the mortar bombing by the Kenyan military based on the border area near to Somalia.
Scores of civilians and livestock were killed in the KDF barrage, according to a resident who did not want to be named, fearing his own safety and reprisal.
