[DAILYCALLER] A former District of Columbia official convicted of felony bribery will spend no time behind bars and pay a fine of only $100, according to the D.C. Office of Inspector General (IG).
U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia Amit Mehta recently sentenced former D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs contact representative Lucretia B. Barksdale to just three years’ probation -- including 180 days home confinement -- and 80 hours of community service.
Barksdale used her official position to extort money from customers seeking business licenses and construction contracts, according to the IG. The judge sentenced Barksdale July 13, but the IG didn’t announce the sentencing until last week. |
