Missiles fired at USS Mason from Yemen, Again.
2016-10-17
"A U.S. Strike Group transiting international waters in the Red Sea detected possible inbound missile threats and deployed appropriate defensive measures," said a U.S. defense official. "Post event assessment is ongoing. All U.S. warships and vessels in the area are safe."

The destroyer USS Nitze and the USS Ponce, an afloat forward staging area ship, were close to the Mason at the time.

#6  Doesn't have to be a truck. Could also be a towed launcher. Easier to construct, for one. Makes it easier to hide as well.

#5  Make it easy for those trucks to scoot, pave the whole damn place.

#4  I think we still have a dozen JSTARS or so. And Camp Lemonnier is right handy too. Just sayin'.

#3  I expect a jStars could track one like a rat. But they are scarce to nonexistent.

#2  As I understand it, the missiles can be launched from trucks, so they can "shoot and scoot". It would be difficult or impossible to take out the actual launcher.

#1  Seems like they need to be reminded a bit more firmly. Perhaps tomahawk the control centers and launch site as well as the radars.
