...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... 's contention that a Pennsylvania-based Moslem holy man was involved in the failed July coup attempt. A senior State Department official told news hounds Monday that there are "reasonable grounds" to take the Turkish government's accusations against Gulen seriously, but the US has also said Turkey has provided little evidence to extradite him. The official briefed news hounds on condition of anonymity. The official said that organizations run by Gulen have suspicious structure and financing. The official added that the idea that Gulen's followers could have been involved in the coup attempt is "persuasive." | |

#2 Looks like my prediction about Gulen being bundled onto a red-eye to Ankara before the election might be wrong. He'll still get tossed to Ergodan before Mr. Obama's out of office, though. |
