Dem Congresswoman Calls Violent Riots at Berkeley a ‘Beautiful Sight'
2017-02-04
[Free Beacon] Democratic Rep. Val Demings (Fla.) said on Thursday that the violent riots that took place at the University of California, Berkley the prior night were a "beautiful sight."

Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, a vocal Donald Trump supporter, was scheduled to speak at UC Berkley on Wednesday night, but the event had to be canceled due to violent protests from students and other activists.

"The university said fires were set, including one caused by a firebomb that ignited a generator-powered spotlight, and commercial-grade fireworks were thrown at police," NBC News reported of the riots.

One witness reported seeing a large crowd yelling "No Trump, no Milo," at Sproul Plaza on the UC Berkley campus. A female Trump supporter was pepper-sprayed while giving an on-cmaera interview.

Demings applauded the violent protests that took place during a Capitol hill hearing.

"We have seen demonstrations‐and I think you already talked about that‐around the country. Young people at Berkeley protesting against this unconstitutional order," Demings said.

She then encouraged more young people to get involved in the protests.

"We encourage our young people to get involved‐I thought it was a beautiful site," Demings said.

Police treated six people for injuries from the riots, according to Berkeley.

#16  @#3: Those seething under the surface still follow laws. Once anarchy begins being answered by anarchy, the real fireworks begin. And those now seeking attention will be, er, "surprised."

Those with less to lose become the most dangerous.

Fools will be merely cannon fodder.

Where will LEO choose to fall?

It's going to suck, but the tree (apparently) needs watering.

#14  We have to go after the money. We must identify the sources of this cash and prosecute them for inciting riots. This is why we have RICO laws, use them....

#13  A female Trump supporter was pepper-sprayed while giving an on-cmaera interview.

I want an arrest made.

#12  You have sedition laws, use them

Also 20 years for felony riot. Give it to a few student rioters and let them get the max as a warning to others

#11  1) Cut off all money.

2) Take the money and assets they have away from them.

3) Destroy their physical and ideological logistics sources.

#10  So... why isn't this Congressthing being censured? Arrested for supporting insurrection?

I'm sick of this shit. The rioters and their supporters need to pay for their crimes.

#9  When they burn down their own sacred places, why should we interfere? They try this in Houston, it'll be a different story.

#8  "More like anarchy, tyranny and an insult to free speech."

To the Left, this is a beautiful sight.

#7  p.s. And we must abolish the situation wherein being an activist is a gainful profession.

#6  Trump can't do it all on his own.

Of course not, you (we because, to a lesser extent, the things are the same in Israel) have a long fight ahead - basically, all the institutions they've taken over (starting with schools) have to be retaken or replaced.

#5  I agree, JQC, with both statements. Couldn't have happened at a classier place.

#4  A beautiful sight at Bezerkely? More like anarchy, tyranny and an insult to free speech.

#3  I hope this is right g(r)om, but I've been hearing the "don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" bit for a looong time now, and have yet to see any results.

Trump can't do it all on his own.

#2  The media think only the Left can get angry, and that it is their exclusive right. They are making a splash of how angry they can get, on the old assumption that it will intimidate the simpletons. Yet this is the very assumption they have pushed too far. For Middle America is in one of those Clint Eastwood moods. And the cameras are rolling, on frothing and hysteria; versus “make my day.”
