Two killed as lawyer settles dispute with bullets |

![]() Police said Advocate Muhammad Bilal called Irfan Mushtaq Khokhar, 40, of Jia Musa, to settle a property dispute. Khokhar, along with his office assistant Muhammad Afzal, 42, reached the appointed place. During the course of discussion, police said, both parties exchanged harsh words and Bilal shot at and injured the other lawyer and his assistant. The suspect expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. People gathered on the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital, where they succumbed to injuries. A police contingent reached the spot after the firing incident in the market and launched search for the killer. The police teams collected forensic evidence from the scene of the crime and recorded statements of eyewitnesses. Police later shifted the bodies to morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy and started the paperwork but haven't done much else against Bilal on the complaint of victim’s father Mushtaq Khokhar. City Division SP Operations Muhammad Naveed told Dawn that the lawyer and his assistant were killed over property dispute. He said they had incarcerated Book 'im, Mahmoud! the suspect. |
