| 1 dead in tribal fighting in Basra |

| Basra (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Basra revealed that one person was killed, while four others were wounded in an armed tribal clash, north of the province, Alsumaria News reported on Wednesday. The source said that a person was killed and four others were wounded in a dispute between two tribes in al-Shafi area, in al-Qurnah District, adding that one of the wounded was only passing in the area during the armed clash. Security forces from the police’s emergency brigade and Basra Operations Commando brigade interfered to end the clash between the two tribes, the source added on condition of anonymity. The province of Basra is relatively stable, but it witnesses tribal clashes and disputes since 2003, due to social conflicts. |
