Spanish police interdicts Venezuelan ship with 2500 kilos of cocaine | |

[ELUNIVERSAL] National Police agents intercepted a ship carrying 2,500 kilos of cocaine in a joint operation of security forces from Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom and Portugal, resulting in seven people captured, daily newspaper ABC reported on Monday. The Venezuela-flagged ship was boarded in high sea with the help of the Tax Agency staff and was taken to Las Palmas, Canary Islands. Official sources could not specify the destination of the illicit drugs.

#10 I can. The US Coast Guard can board your boat any time they want, and look anywhere they want, without probable cause or a warrant. They can do this on the open sea, or while you're asleep aboard in your marina at midnight. So yes it is perfectly legal, in international and national waters, even without a warrant or probable cause. In the USA this has always been the case even before the US became the USA.
