#5  I worked in Saudi in the 1990s. Even then, Western women (of whom there weren't a lot) were allowed to go bareheaded, though they did have to wear the abaya. Just as Western men, like me, didn't have to grow facial hair (though we did have to cover everything but our faces and hands.)
