[SunStar] Two Philippine soldiers were killed, while six others were injured, in a clash with New People's Army insurgents in Davao City, the military said on Sunday. The Eastern Mindanao Command said in a statement the clash occurred early Sunday at Sitio Bajada, Paquibato District, Davao City. The military said the battle broke out when troops were fired upon while they "were responding to a reported consolidation of NPAs planning to conduct atrocities in Paquibato District."
The clash resulted in the death of two soldiers with six others sustaining injuries.
