| 4 Iraqi kops wounded in firefight with ISIS in Tikrit |

| Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) Four Federal Police personnel were injured in an armed attack, south of Tikrit, a local source from Salahuddin province said. “Unknown gunmen attacked late on Tuesday Federal Police patrol at the entrance of Balad city, 80 KM south of Tikrit, near Samarra Operations Command,” the source told AlSumaria News on Wednesday. “The attack left four personnel wounded.” “Security troops cordoned off the accident spot and started operations in search for the perpetrators,” the source, who preferred anonymity, said adding that three of the wounded were taken to Balad public hospital, while the fourth was transferred to Baghdad due to the serious wounds he suffered. IS still holds a few areas in each of Anbar, Salahuddin, Diyala and Kirkuk. |
