#74 The range here was over 400 meters. With nearly automatic fire, the 5.56 rounds would be just random, and 7.62 would be only accurate on the first shot of a burst. To injure 600 people would require at least 3000 rounds. Probably twice that much. I dont't know about you, but I have not fired more than a couple hundred rounds at the range per trip to the range, which took about an hour. He was not shooting anything that could be legal in any jurisdiction. It is a damn shame that crazy people violate our gun laws and shoot people. |

#73 #48 Trailingwife, I assume this is a typo "rightwing NPR type". Quite right -- thank you for catching that, rjschwarz. It was meant to be NRA. |

#72 10 rounds per second. To me, a SAW belt fed with tripods. Podcast from AllMarineRadio |

#71 Based on the number of rounds per burst he was emptying 30 round clips at each burst. 600 casualties indicated he fired off probably at least a dozen clips, probably more. But in his mind he was the victim. And blamed the world. Yes, that would be a Democrat. |

#70 The Media haven't mentioned if the kiler was a Democrat and hated Trump supporters and one would assume that he thought that people who attended the Country Music concert which was his target would also ne likely Trump Supporters. And an analysis of other wacko mass muderers have tended to be Democrats. The last one who shot up the Congressman at a baseball game was a Bernie supporter. Remember? There have been numerous others...Democrats with guns. But the Media doesn't even ask those questions. The Media is incompetent AND stupid. |

#68 I'm trying to picture how he got such an arsenal up to his room without security noticing. You haven't seen many hotel lobbies, then, with luggage carts packed to overflowing with stuff the customers bring with them. |
Posted by: Anguper Hupomosing9418 2017-10-02 19:03 |
#67 I'm more interested in how he got the arms. How many full automatics did he have? |

#66 Take it apart and put it in luggage. Lots of people carrying luggage around a hotel that big. |

#65 I'm trying to picture how he got such an arsenal up to his room without security noticing. I guess you don't pay attention to that kind of stuff until something bad happens. |

#64 Danley apparently in the Philippines where she was originally from. Not Indonesia as reported earlier. |

#63 I was wondering just how many more "Gun Free Zone" decals security would have to put up in order for the shooter to throw up his arms and say "This just ain't worth it"? |
Posted by: Capsu78 2017-10-02 17:39 |
#62 Also, I heard the shots fired on the video. Full auto machine gun. 99.9% chance that guy did not possess that legally. |

#60 Mandalay hotel starting 2012 required all hotel security be unarmed. Charles, Any link to Venezuela or Cuba today, any link to pre WWII Nazi Germany under Hitler, or to orders from King George of England during the American Revolution demanding un armed citizens in the colonies will show you what happens to entire populations that are unarmed. The Vegas massacre was a gun free zone. Even hotel security was to have no weapons. The crazies do thier homework. |

#37 From the video recordings I've heard on TV it sound like full-auto firing. Probably just emptying one mag after another into the crowd mass. It will be interesting to learn how many shell casings are found in that hotel room. One sick, evil bastid. Unarmed, defenseless young people. Totally evil. |

Something is odd, as she is still married to Geary Danley, but living with Paddock. https://www.facebook.com/marilou.danley/about Here's some info on Marilou's hubby. Do the math: Geary Danley is a fan of the The Rachel Maddow Show and liked several pages on Facebook including Thank You Obama, Anti-Trump Army, Progressive Day, Organizing for Action, Not My President, Proud to Be A Democrat, Fight Trump, Boycott All Things Trump, and Impeach Trump. Geary is a Democrat and is registered to vote in Washoe County, Nevada. |

#27 Raw Story reports Mr. Paddock is basically retired, spending his time gambling and going to shows. Also, there were 22,000 attending the Country & Western festival. Most of the commenters at the link assume the shooter is a rightwing NPR type, and they are nasty about it. |
