| Palestinian terrorist shot before he could detonate suicide belt |

| [NYPOST] A Paleostinian man was shot Friday after stabbing an Israeli border police officer in the West Bank ‐ the latest violent fallout of President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the Jewish state’s capital. The assailant, Mahmoud Iman, 19, who stabbed the officer in his shoulder during festivities, was evacuated by the Red Islamic Thingy at death's door, according to The Jerusalem Post. A picture of Iman in Ramalla showed him wearing what may have been an explosive vest. Israeli police officials said they are investigating the possibility that the attacker infiltrated the area pretending to be a journalist before stabbing the officer. "When the other officers saw the stabbing they opened fire that led to him being incapacitated. When the troops approached the terrorist, they identified an boom belt, which led to additional fire to prevent him from triggering it," police said in a statement. Police said they were investigating whether Iman was carrying a real bomb or only a device meant to look like one, the Times of Israel reported. |
