In an online statement issued on Wednesday, IS says the bombers targeted a gathering of Shiites in the Iraqi capital's Tayaran Square on Monday morning. The attack struck as laborers and street vendors filled the square during the morning rush hour. More than 100 people were maimed. In statement on Thursday, IS also grabbed credit for Saturday's attack when, according to Iraqi officials, a jacket wallah hit a police checkpoint in northern Baghdad, killing 10 people and wounding 10. |

| #2 I sometimes believe that ISIS is the Frankenstein created by the Pakistani ISI back in the Afghan wars. Seems to me that you can trace ISIS back to AQ and then to Bin Laden during the Afghan wars with the Soviets and back to ISI supporting him. I have this belief that ISI is the puppet master on a lot of ISIS activity and a conduit for funding. |
