Syria forces wrest control of airbase in Idlib
2018-01-21
[PRESSTV] Syrian government troops have retaken full control of the strategic military airbase of Abu al-Duhur in the northwestern province of Idlib. They also managed to liberate several villages in Idlib and the northern province of Aleppo from the grips of terrorist outfits.

As they are currently pressing ahead with their offensive in multiple fronts against Lion of Islam groups, Syrian ground forces, backed by aerial cover from the air force, fully retook the key airport on Saturday, more than two years after it came under siege by foreign-backed Lion of Islams.

The advancement is part of the army’s ongoing operations to liberate Idlib.

On their way to the airport, Syrian soldiers also regained full control of the village of Om Tineh, al-Ja’kiya, Hamidiya Shaddad and al-Hamidiya following heavy festivities with the snuffies of al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat Fateh al-Sham
