The incident took place at around 4 pm local time the vicinity of Bati Kot district while a number of people were busy playing cricket in the area.
The officials are saying that three people playing cricket were killed while two spectators were maimed after the explosives planted in the ground went off.
Provincial governor Gulab Mangal condemned the incident in the strongest words that left two university students and a high school student dead.
No individual or group has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.
US drones target ISIS militants in Achin leaving 2 dead
[Khaama Press] The US unmanned aerial vehicles carried out airstrikes on ISIS militants in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan leaving two of them dead.
The provincial police commandment said the latest airstrikes were carried out on Friday in the vicinity of Achin district.
