[DAWN] THE mantle of the PML-N leadership has apparently been passed on to the younger Sharif, the ubiquitous chief minister of the country’s most powerful province, but the real power continues to lie with the elder Sharif endorsed by the party as its ’Quaid for life’. Notwithstanding the recent court ruling, Nawaz Sharif ... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts... stays at the helm of the ruling party.
